Last week our sales and marketing team headed down to Savannah for our 5th Georgia Management Information Sciences (GMIS) conference. This year, in addition to being a sponsor, we were the headlining presenter for the conference.
This was the first time the GMIS Board of Directors decided to open up an entire day of presentations by sponsors. During our presentation, Cybersecurity: Rise of the Digital Mafia, we highlighted the risk every network is in as cyber-attacks get more and more sophisticated. Our goal was to get everyone to think of security as one giant shield, instead of small solutions pieced together.
Our Liberty Technology booth featured several Cisco phone and collaboration endpoints running over a Z1. Our new Account Manager’s (Donnie & Than) spent most of the time listening to the attendees address the individual needs and pain points for their municipalities.
For GMIS attendees, each day of the conference provided insight into aspects of the latest trends in information technology, presented by experts in the field. Regional and national vendors offered tools and solutions designed for state and local governments.
GMIS is a great opportunity to exchange knowledge and ideas about what works and what doesn’t work with IT peers who represent shops of all sizes from nearly every region of the state.
